The FoodSaver helps you prepare meals for later & Keeps food fresh 5X longer

We have a habit of buying lots of food and not always eating it. You know those big club packs that have way more portions in them than the average family can eat, those. Chicken is one we buy like this because the normal sized packs are too small for our family.  Problem is we do not always eat the entire club pack either. Not to mention having to stack it in the freezer and prying it apart to cook later because it froze in bulk. i am all about saving money where I can and making my life easier.

Now that I have a FoodSaver I just separate the chicken pieces and bag either individually or in packs of meal sized portions. as well this is great for saving space. No more big boxes or odd shaped packages. Just stack able pouches that have been vacuum sealed.

The Foodsaver vacuum sealer keeps your food fresher for five times longer than in their store packaging. Since it keeps food fresh, you have less waste. In turn you save money. We all want to save money, right?

I got the opportunity to check out the Foodsaver V2060 Vacuum Sealer. It is thin and fits nicely on my counter. Using it was pretty easy and a lot of fun. We may have been sealing everything we could get our hands on 🙂

FoodSaver® V2060 Vacuum Sealer

  • 1 – 2060 FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealing System
  • 1 – 11” x 10’ FoodSaver® Roll

The roll allows you to seal anything you need. You seal one side then place your items inside and seal the other. So the bag is as big as you need. Great for meals and meat. It is also great for any fruits or veggies you may have has sitting around. Right now we are making apple sauce out of apples we picked. The vacuum sealer is letting me put portions in the freezer to use later on for muffins and other recipes. When you are ready to seal your food you insert, vacuum out the air then seal with the heated Foodsaver. It plugs in tot he kitchen outlet.

The FoodSaver is not only good for portion control but to keep food fresh. food sealed in the Foodsaver is less likely to get freezer burn. What causes freezer burn? Air. So you vacuum seal your food and no air is in and no freezer burn.

Once we were ready to eat the food we sealed, we just cut the bag and cooked as normal. I really love how sealing the bags sucks out the air but does not crush the food at all. This is why I tested it on the grapes in the picture above. Foodsaver products have a one year limited warranty.

  1. I have always wanted a foodsaver! I want one that does jars too, I saw someone put lettuce in jars and they lasted forever!

I want one! I buy in bulk and I've had a few times that I've had to throw out items because they were badly freezer-burned (which kind of defeats the purpose of buying in bulk).

    Wishing you a lovely day.

I would love to win a Foodsaver Vacuum Sealer. I live a truly busy sometimes hectic life with two toddlers to care for, a teenager and a husband who has neuropathic pain so I make a lot of meals to freeze when I have the time to do it.I would like that they stay fresh until we eat them.I also buy meat in bulk to save us money.

This is an item that is definitely on my wish list.

  7. My husband and I have wanted one of these for years. When our kids were little and there were sometimes 6 of us we bought lots and lots of food, but we also wasted alot! Now that its just the 2 of us with grandkids visiting and the occassional kid coming home we could use this because its hard to purchase groceries for just 2 people and keep everything fresh!

Looks great! I could use one.
