The Grand Hotel & Suites Toronto

A few weeks ago I found myself in Toronto for an entire week. So as a country girl and a blogger I had to book myself solid. It is not very often I get to go to the city and be a tourist. I had two conferences to go to and a variety of meetings and events. Right in the middle of the week I found myself in between and needing a place to stay. I also figured I would be missing my family by this point. Lucky for me I was able to get a beautiful room at The Grand Hotel & Suites and hubs was going to bring the kids up for a visit. Sadly we had to change our plans last minute and hubs could not visit with the family. So our family night away turned out to be a girls night away. I invited a few of my girl friends along for the night and we had a blast. This was a nice change but I hope to bring my kids or even just hubs and I next time.

When we arrived we were amazed. This beautiful hotel in the middle of the city surrounded by the noisy streets felt like another world. The stairs leading up to the front entrance was like a gateway to a secluded oasis. every staff member from the first to the last was pleasant, cheerful, helpful and welcoming.  We quickly registered and went up the elevator to our room. Actually the room was much more than a room. It was a Two bedroom suite and it may have been bigger than my house.

Grandhotel

Two bedrooms each equipped with a huge comfy bed, dresser and desk. A robe and iron board as well the suite has a large bathroom and an en suite off the main room. There was a full kitchen equipped with fridge, microwave and more, a table with chairs and sofa bed. On top of that and the televisions throughout, there was also a patio with a view. I was not prepared for the amazing features of this room. It was stunning! I felt like a princess.

All rooms and suites at The Grand include a free breakfast buffet at the Citrus restaurant located off the main lobby. The Citrus restaurant was truly a highlight. So much so that it is going to get its very own post 🙂 So keep an eye out.

That evening we had an event to attend downtown. The free shuttle was no longer available so they found us a cab. The next day when it was time to attend a taping of Steven and Chris we took advantage of the shuttle service. The driver loaded up our bags and dropped us off for free right at the door. Amazing service! If you are looking to sight see this is a great service to take advantage of. A SUV for you and your friends door to door is way better than a cab any day 🙂

The Hotel had other great services that we enjoyed.  The 8000 Sq foot rooftop patio was a great experience. Full of seating it was the perfect view of the city. Hard to believe that below us there was a busy world of people walking, driving and being stressed about every day city adventures. we felt like we were in our own world. At night the music comes on and a huge projector screen shows videos. We sat up there for hours just hanging out and enjoying some girl time. Chatting and catching up with friends. we were sad none of us brought our swimsuits as there was also an amazing hot tub. To get up there we had to take the elevator to the top, then get onto another “secret” elevator that required a key. It felt very fancy and I am surprised more people were not up there. We had our own private hang out area. The day time on the roof was also great as the view was breathtaking.
