Homemade BBQ Sauce recipe

BBQ 1

Summer is here and we are barbecuing daily! I just can not get enough of the BBQ!

I like to change up how I cook the meat on the BBQ and add rubs, marinades as well as different sauces. Sometimes I just let the meat soak in its own juices and add nothing at all. My teens really love the BBQ sauces and can not get enough. Below you will find a yummy recipe for Homemade BBQ Sauce. You may find it tastes a lot like Bull’s-Eye Original BBQ Sauce. This tasty copy cat recipe will sure be a hit if your kids like their bbq saucy like mine 🙂

Homemade BBQ Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • ¾ cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup tomato paste
  • ⅔ cup vinegar
  • ⅓ cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons liquid smoke
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon ground mustard
  • ⅛ teaspoon paprika
  • ⅛ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick Grill Mates Smokehouse Maple

Instructions:

  1. Pour all ingredients in a medium saucepan.  Whisk together.
  2. Bring pot to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
  3. Simmer for 1 hour.  Let cool.
  4. Transfer sauce into bowl (or if you do not plan on using it all, transfer into jars) and let sit in the refrigerator overnight.

Note-Liquid Smoke – can be found in the BBQ sauce aisle of most stores or online

This sounds like a really good recipe. I usually make my own BBQ sauce, but it doesn't look as good as yours does.
Where do you find the liquid smoke?
