The Canadian Red Cross in Your Community

While watching the news last night I realized that our country and our community is in need more than ever.   Devastation has hit many regions around the world. For the most part unpredictable and extreme weather are to blame. Within Canada alone our friends and families are losing their homes and being forced to evacuate due to fires and flooding. The news reported that the donations of food and clothing have been extremely generous to help aid those in need.  I wish I could do something, anything.  I am writing this post to make you all aware that The Canadian Red Cross accepts cash donations. They are aiding victims of disaster worldwide. If you are in a position to donate anything, you can find out where and how here

How We Care For Your Donations to our Appeals

The Canadian Red Cross collects funds to meet the immediate relief and long-term recovery needs of disaster survivors. Should donations supporting a specific Red Cross disaster relief and recovery effort meet the amount required, the Canadian Red Cross will cease collecting donations for the response and will communicate this information immediately to the public.
If you wish to have your donation directed toward a specific international or domestic disaster relief effort, please make mention of that when calling in your donation.
You can also specify if you would like your donation to support the work of Red Cross across Canada or within your province or territory.
Easy donation In Canada send Text RED CROSS to 30333 for $5 Donation
Should donations supporting a specific Red Cross disaster relief effort surpass the amount required, the remainder will be directed as follows:
  • Donations exceeding the amount required by Red Cross to respond to a specific Canadian disaster will be directed to the Canadian Disaster Relief Fund – a fund that provides support to people affected by future domestic disasters.
  • Donations exceeding the amount required by Red Cross to respond to a specific International disaster will be directed to the International Disaster Relief Fund – a fund that provides support to people affected by future international disasters.
