Keeping families connected

Having a big family  that includes teens I find it hard to always stay on top of my kids. Where are they? What are they doing? We have had cell phones in our home for many years. For us, it is a great way to check in with each other or report in if we are going to be late. Cell phones are a great thing to have for safety as well as socialization. Not sure if you have been out looking for a payphone lately, but they are hard to find. So the whole “here is a quarter, call if you are going to be late” thing is really no longer possible. We have tried various plans with our teens as well as prepaid. Some work, some don’t.

Since staying connected is so important to us, I am happy to be working along side the wonderful people at Rogers. My family is testing out their Ultimate Family plan first hand.

I was recently asked my opinions about kids and cellphones. You can read my answers and the first installment on their blog here.

I will post updates as we go along so you can see if one of these plans are right for you and your family.

As a part of my involvement with this project, Rogers is donating money to charities of my choice. I took to Facebook for your feedback last week. Thanks to everyone’s votes on my Facebook page, I will be donating $50 of the donation money to the Canadian Cancer Society. I have some other charities close to my heart I have in mind for the remainder of the donation money.
