How to make smores

The long weekend has winded up and it was truly a beautiful weekend. We enjoyed a few camp fires and roasted hot dogs while entertaining friends and family. We also had the pleasure of roasting marshmallows. Our three year old has become quite the marshmallow roasting expert. She thinks they are pretty messy to eat though lol Her and her grandma prefer the burnt ones that most of us would throw back into the fire. The crispier the better I guess. Myself, I like the lightly toasted golden brown ones. Usually two is enough for me. Anymore and my tummy tells me to stop. Too sweet!

We even had the opportunity to make some s’mores over the weekend. I love them made with chocolate chip cookies. Two cookies sandwiched together with melted/roasted marshmallow in the middle. Everyone else in my family enjoys the more traditional s’mores. In case you are one of the few who do not know how to make s’mores, here it is

How to make S’mores

Ingredients

  • 1 large marshmallow
  • 2 graham crackers
  • 1 bar chocolate (1 square per s’more)

Directions

  1. Roast the marshmallow over an open flame until it begins to brown and melt. Make sure to rotate your stick to roast evenly. Use a campfire roasting stick
  2. Sandwich the chocolate between the 2 crackers and add the hot marshmallow. Squish together melting the chocolate. Allow the marshmallow to cool a moment, then eat.
  3. Enjoy!

This is one summer treat we will be enjoying a lot this summer. How do you like your S’mores?
