Looking for a little adventure this summer? Toronto offers a great range of activities for families to help keep kids occupied all summer long. Beat the heat (and the boredom!) by getting out and about in Canada’s largest city. Whether you are looking for thrilling adventure, getting up close with the animals or having a relaxing picnic Toronto has it all.
Here are some of the top attractions in Toronto:
CN Tower – The CN Tower is the most recognisable building along Toronto’s skyline. Holding the title of World’s Tallest Tower it offers breathtaking views of Toronto and Lake Ontario. Why not take a trip up the tower to visit Glass Floor (and check out the views from 1,122′ straight down!) or have dinner at the 360 Restaurant. Are you feeling really adventurous???? Take a stroll around the OUTSIDE of the CN tower as part of the EdgeWalk. And why you are downtown, stop by the Rogers Center and catch a Blue Jays Game.
Toronto Island – The ferry ride over to Toronto Island is just as much part of the fun as spending the day over on the Island. Once you are there relax on the beach, enjoy a family picnic or head over to the rides at Centreville. No matter how you spend the day on the Island you are sure to have a blast.
Royal Ontario Museum – As Canada’s largest museum the ROM boasts a collection of over 6 million artifacts. Have a dinosaur lover in your house, be sure to check out the Ultimate Dinosaurs: Giants From Gondwana exhibit on now. The ROM also offers a variety of programs for whole family including Moms & Tiny Tots, ROM Kids along with many differ lectures and courses..
Ontario Science Centre – Get into hands on learning at the Ontario Science Centre. This educational and interactive facility offers a one of a kind learning experience for your little ones. Where else can you learn about how circus tricks are performed, race a 10 m dash against a cheetah and catch and IMAX movie all in one day?
Toronto Zoo – I recently had a chance to visit the Toronto Zoo go wild with the animals. What a fun day we had and I can’t wait to go back again. The Toronto Zoo is home to over 16,000 creatures and is open 364 days a year! Get up close with the gorillas, touch a sting ray or learn about ongoing conservation efforts to protect our environment. It will be a day to remember.
