On a long road trip this week, my family decided to ditch the dvd player and try out some new music.  I asked the girls which one they wanted to try first (we were given a variety to try) and oddly enough the cover “art” on this cd grabbed them first.  Art is in quotes because this cd is full of upbeat songs that tell stories of various famous artists including:Jackson Pollock, Alexander Calder, Georgia O’Keeffe, Monet, and Matisse.  Even I enjoyed the music.  Often times with kids music, it can be too high pitched or baby like but this one was great.  I found my self moving to the rhythm.  They are a fan of Dan Zanes and the producer of this CD also produces his work.  I knew they were going to love it.   I think our favourite song on the CD is Jackson Pollock.  It was so catchy, I even sing it in the shower.  I highly recommend this one to anyone who is looking for a new CD that both kids and parents alike can enjoy.
