#VHExcitement Making meals tasty is easy with @vhsauces

When it comes to meal time I always have big ideas and little time. I love variety and I love taste. My family love the same old same old. Too me that gets boring. Because of this I am often preparing more than one meal at a time. I usually cook up the meat, season as they like then remove enough for them. From there, I add my flavouring, seasoning and veggies. VH sauces make this super easy to do.

One of our families fave’s is pork tenderloin. This is perfect for me to add my extras to after the kids portion has been removed. (I have tried making the kids eat what I cook, but it causes too many headaches. I much rather them eat then fight ) So I spotted a yummy recipe on the VH Faebook site. Of course I had to make some adjustments but here is the original recipe.

Korean Pork Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb (675 g) pork tenderloin
  • 1 cup (250 mL) VH® Korean BBQ Sauce
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) VH® Soya Sauce
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) lime juice
  • PAM® Grilling Spray
For wraps:
  • 8 whole romaine lettuce leaves, washed and dried
  • 2 cups (500 mL) cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) grated carrot (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) green onions, finely sliced
  • 1 cup (250 mL) cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced

Directions

  1. Slice the tenderloin lengthwise into 4 pieces, creating 4 equal strips. Pierce strips all over with a fork. Place in plastic freezer bag with 1/2 cup (125 mL) VH® Korean BBQ SauceVH® Soya Sauce and lime juice.
  2. Marinate for at least 1 hour, up to 1 day.
  3. Spray grill with PAM® Grilling Spray and heat to medium-high. Remove pork from marinade and wipe off excess, discard marinade. Place pork on grill and cook for 4 minutes, flip pieces over and begin basting with 1/2 cup (125 mL) of VH® Korean BBQ Sauce, continue cooking for 5 minutes or until pork is cooked through.
  4. Slice pork into 1/2-inch strips and serve alongside other garnishes.
  5. To assemble wraps, fill lettuce leaves with rice, pork, carrots, cucumber, additional sauce and green onions.
Tip: Drizzle some additional VH® Korean BBQ Sauce over the wrap once it is filled.

So my variation of this was instead of wrapping in lettuce, I served beside a salad. I was also lazy and added the sauce while cooking not actually marinating. I do this because I split it into two for the kids.  The results, delicious. I served with a side of rice as well.

Now that I have had a chance to check out the recipes and the easy search feature i am going to be visiting often. VH on Facebook is easy to use for recipes. You add your ingredients, your meal type etc. From there a wonderful variety of recipes appear for very cooking skill level.

For me VH is a great resource. I make tasty food, cost is low and time spent with my family is increased  Nobody has any idea how easy it was for me to prepare dinner. And when I can get my kids to venture to my side of the stove, they are usually pleasantly surprised. I am happy to be participating in a generous campaign with VH, and  Paying it forward to a fellow blogger. The blogger I was able to pass this yummy opportunity onto is Shannon’s View from Here.
