Our daughter (four) made some comments recently that made me to believe she needed some Christmas magic. So I decided to make some Magic Reindeer food with her. It was easy to do and since it is baking season I had all the ingredients here already. She had fun and is looking forward to Christmas eve to leave it out for the reindeer.
Ingredients
In a small ziploc bag or baby food container, mix:
- 1/4 cup oatmeal
- 1/4 cup sugar
- sprinkle of red or green sugar crystals (for cookie decorating)
This also makes a great gift. You can create tags and add them to the bags when gifting.
I created the tags on picmonkey. The poem on the tag says
Magic Reindeer Food
Sprinkle on the lawn at night
The moon will make it sparkle bright
Santa’s reindeer will fly and roam
This will help them find your home
Add some magic to your Christmas and make yours to share 🙂
Happy holidays!
lol so cute, I bet that was super fun to do together and it will be fun on Christmas eve to go out and sprinkle. Don't forget!! lol

We did this after we moved so Santa could find our house. We put some sparkles in the oatmeal too. I love the tags, such a cute idea!
Love this! Going to make it for my boys. They will LOVE this!
Thanks for posting.

This is such a cute idea!! I'll have to try this with my kids 🙂
OMG, my daughters would so love this and it's much better than just leaving carrots. 🙂 Not to mention so much more enticing to eat. 😛 Hehe. Thanks for sharing this cuz I'm going to make some with the girls.

Cute! I should make some with DS. This is the first year is "gets" Santa
Super cute idea! I will definitely do these with my kids. When I was a kid, we always left a carrot out for Rudolph with Santa's cookies but nothing for the other reindeer.

AH I love this… I am not sure where they kids usually get it, but this year we didn't receive any. I will have to make this with them this week. Thanks for the idea and recipe!
