Typical Redhead!

Today I ran into my fave grocery store to grab a few things for the kids lunches tomorrow. One thing I really needed was sandwich meat. I approached the counter and saw two ladies ahead of me. So I stood back a bit not to crowd them While there an older woman and her daughter (I think) came up to the line up.. A couple minutes later while the second lady was being served the older lady pushed her cart in front of me. I did not think too much of it. I actually thought she just wanted a better look at the deli meat. It was then my turn.

The deli lady said “Can I help you?” And before I had a chance to answer the older woman gave her order. I piped up and said “Excuse me, I was next!”

The lady working the deli apologized and the older woman said “NO I was next!”
Me “Actually I was standing here when you walked up. I was not crowding the two in front of me. However it is my turn”
The lady and her daughter rolled their eyes and started to talk about me. How rude I was ect.

I placed my order and went to walk away.

The older lady, as I was walking away said quite loudly “Typical redhead!”

REALLY?? Because I spoke up I was being a “typical redhead”? Was I suppose to let them go in front of me? Would YOU not have said something? I wish I could tell you I was the bigger person and walked away.

However I let them know exactly what I thought of their “Typical redhead” comment. There is no excuse for being rude. Everybody is busy and everybody is rushed. I was happy and upbeat and very polite up until that point.

Have you been stereo typed before? I would love to hear about it.

I think I would have called her a typical bitch. LOL

  2. I think some people go into stores looking for ‘fights’ at times. (and, no, I’m not talking about ‘typical red head behavior!)
It’s absolutely fine to speak up and say it’s your turn!

  3. You just did the right thing. If I was in your situation I will do the same thing. Go girl!
