Falls Avenue Resort Our Family Getaway #likenowhereelse @fallsavenue

SHERonthefalls_StackedBlack

A couple of weekends ago I took my four kids to the Falls Avenue Resort located in Niagara Falls Ontario for the weekend as an Ambassador with PTPA. Knowing it was a three hour drive, I called ahead to make sure I had everything I needed. I was also worried I would get there too early for check in. The friendly lady at the front desk offered me early check in and also mentioned I could hangout in the waterpark if our room was not ready.  She also offered me late check out for the next day. This was an extra hour  and was very helpful.  After my sons Track & Field meet in London we drove to the Falls. It was a nice drive and one I never did on my own. Hubs was home sick and it was just me and the kids. Luckily 3 of my kids are teens, so not so bad. The GPS got us right to the door no headaches no hassle.  It was a beautiful day out and Niagara Falls was so busy. People visit there every year all year long from all around the world because it is like nowhere else. You can check out the ambassadors tweets using the #likenowhereelse hashtag on Twitter

We pulled into the check in parking and within minutes of going inside we were registered (we were even served samples from the Starbucks people while in line) . I took the kids up to our room, then proceeded to park. But first I had to check out the amazing view.  The Sheraton on the Falls is 4-diamond hotel; most of the guestrooms offer a spectacular view of the Falls (all fallsview rooms have floor to ceiling windows) Our room had a fireplace, two big beds and a pull out couch.

We actually did not arrive as early as I had planned. So by the time we unpacked we were all hungry. We headed down to the Fallsview Restaurant for our dinner buffet. The kids loved the view and loved being able to pick and choose what they wanted for dinner. 4 kids (3 being teens) can really eat a lot! I loved the seafood and dessert table. The kids loved the beef cut on the spot and the kid friendly options. Our server was really nice and brought us our drinks. (Note drinks are not included in buffet price) The food, there was a bit of everything and it was all so good.

We then went for a walk and checked out the main strip. It was a lot of fun and there were a lot of people. Shortly after we headed back to the resort and realized we had a couple of hours left to enjoy the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark.  I did not get my swimsuit on but the kids all had a blast. Our bracelet allowed us to come and go during our stay as much as we wanted. They had everything we needed. Lockers, life jackets, towels, and FUN!

They had something for everybody. My youngest enjoyed the smaller slides and splash area while my older kids went tubing. They also ventured to the long slides that were super fast. This was 3 acres of SUPER FUN!

We had so much fun the kids were all in bed by 10PM as they were tired out. I was awake and enjoying the view. Our room was great. We had everything we needed including coffee, water bottles, a TV, mini bar with wine and robes. I requested extra towels a blanket and toiletries. They arrived very quickly to our room and were no extra charge.

The next day we walked up the hill while it was quiet and grabbed breakfast. We also enjoyed some of the local attractions around the Falls Avenue Resort.  The Hotel is connected to the waterpark and dining, attractions, entertainment in Falls Avenue Resort via an indoor walkway.  The Hershey’s store was my fave as I LOVE everything chocolate. The kids had a blast in the arcade and loved checking out the themed decor throughout the resort.  Falls Avenue Resort is North America’s largest hotel and Waterpark Complex.  It is 20 acres in size and is located directly across from Niagara Falls.

We came back

Packed up our stuff

Checked out

Loaded the car and hit the water park again.

Before heading home we went to the Rain Forest Cafe for lunch and loved it. Elephants and Gorillas coming to life really made it feel like we were in the wild. Every 30 minutes there was also  live storms with thunder and lightening. At the entrance there were  real life animals ( a snake, a shark, tortoise and fish) . Also super energetic staff and great food. It was awesome.

We could have spent more time at the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark. The temperature inside was warm (84 degrees)  I can see how people would visit all year long. Hanging out with my kids aged 4-19 there was no shortage of things to do. Each one had something that appealed to them. Size appropriate slides, pools and action packed tubing and high slides for the teens. There was even a cafe for me to grab a beverage. We had a blast. Loved that there was so many lounge chairs for comfy seating as well.  There were also endless lifeguards throughout the 3 acres park.

The kids are already planning on going back this summer. This time we will bring dad 🙂
