The Healthy Shopper Picks for Spring 2013

It is important to me to buy the best possible products for  my family. Often these products are unknown to me and I count on resources like the Healthy Shopper to help me find what is new.

Earth Day is April 22, 2013 and the Healthy Shoppers, Randy Boyer and Andrea Donsky, want to talk about making every day earth day, because what’s good for us is also good for the environment.  Their Spring 2013 Picks are easy to find in your local grocery store, and in many cases your neighborhood pharmacy.

The main way to eat good and have products that are good for you, is to read labels. If you can not understand what is in  the product it is most likely not good for you.

Salsa is a big part of our pantry. I prefer it over any other condiment and enjoy it on everything. So whenever I get an opportunity to try out a new kind, I am in. It is always interesting to see the varieties available. I made a few yummy dishes with this and my family enjoyed it. The flavours were great and I love that it is organic.

Hyland’s Homeopathic Leg Cramps – Hyland’s Leg Cramps is a traditional homeopathic formula for the relief of symptoms of cramps and pains in the lower back, legs and feet. It stimulates your body’s natural healing response to relieve symptoms. Hyland’s Leg Cramps is safe for adults and can be used in conjunction with other medications.  Hyland’s Leg Cramps PM is a natural and quick dissolving tablet that provides nighttime cramp relief in the lower body, legs, feet and toes that often causes nighttime sleeplessness.  It is the only non-prescription OTC solution that calms agitated legs.  Neither creams contain Aspirin, Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen or Naproxen and are side-effect free, non-habit forming and drug-free.

My problems with leg cramps started when I had my first baby. Then after that long car rides would cause my legs to ache up. My mom has this problem as did my grandparents. So I assumed I would just have to live with it, without a resolution. I was so pleased to be introduced to Hylands Leg Cramp for relief. Now we can go on our day trips and not worry about my legs bugging me. These are available at most pharmacies and grocery stores across Canada.

A big part of our new healthy lifestyle (hubs and I ) is to avoid as much process as possible. The dietitian said the less processing the better. So organic and natural are the best choices whenever possible.  I am hoping to continue to discover new products to help me achieve my weight loss goals and live a happy healthy life.
