We have been trying hard to watch what we eat and make good decisions in my home. My weakness is sweets. It always has been. I can eat healthy all day long but as soon as I see chocolates or candies I am done for. It really gets difficult to resist. I also have cut back on my baking because of sugar.
Recently I was sent a pretty package of Xyla to try out. This is a natural sugar alternative that keeps insulin levels steady and there are many benefits to that, including weight loss, oral health and it’s safe for diabetics too.
I say the package was pretty because it was all wrapped up in tissue paper and looked like a gift 🙂 I was a bit nervous about trying out Xyla. I am not a fan of artificial tastes so I was worried. Immediately we tried the candies. SWEETS!!! we could not resist. With 40% less calories and 75% less carbs than sugar we were pleasantly surprised. They tasted great and nothing fake.
I also added the Xyla to muffins and tea. I could not taste a difference from this and sugar and neither could my family. It made me feel good to give them sweets without the negative effects of sugar.
What is Xyla?
Xyla® xylitol is a true, natural sugar alternative that won’t harm your teeth, promotes good health and stabilizes insulin and hormone levels without the side effects of sugar. Even though Xyla® and sugar taste alike, the similarities end there. Sugar creates havoc and bacterial growth within your body, but Xyla® heals and repairs.
Xyla® is the only form of sugar that is a natural antimicrobial which means it doesn’t promote and feed dangerous bacteria. Xylitol is a natural substance found in fibrous vegetables and fruit and hardwood trees like birch – it’s even found in our own bodies. It is derived from natural sources and then purified into its crystalline form
Health Benefits
Xyla® helps promote oral health and the prevention of disease caused by bacteria. An excess of sugar in our diet weakens the immune system and creates an acidic environment and our oral health suffers. Xyla® helps restore a proper pH balance in the mouth, creating a hostile environment for bacteria and preventing plaque from forming.
• Inhibits plaque and dental cavities up to 80%
• Retards demineralization of tooth enamel
• Re-mineralization of tooth enamel
• Increase saliva production and protects saliva proteins
• Reduces infections in the mouth and nasopharynx
To read more information and find some yummy recipes you can check out Xylitol Canada. The sugar is available in a canister and can be used in replace of sugar. You can also use it if you travel with the convenient packets. Xyla looks, tastes, cooks and bakes just like sugar. When using in a recipe if it calls for 1 cup sugar you can use 1 cup Xyla. I admit I am loving having sweets in my life again , guilt free.
Have you tried Xyla? What would you make with it if you have been cutting back on sugar?
I have a bit of a sweet tooth myself, I've never tried anything but regular sugar though.

I would love to use Xyla in muffins and granola bars. You seem to have taken your quotes from Bulk Barn but it doesn't seem to be sold there. Where did you find it?
I would like to try Xyla because I am cutting back on sugar. Like yourself I am not a fan of artificial sweeteners but I have heard about this one and I find it interesting because it's found in our bodies. My kids love cookies and I am always baking so I would try using Xyla in place of sugar.
Hi, I just started using xyla and like it very much, but my baked goods are dry. Can I add plain yougurt to a recipe? if so how much would I add to keep it nice and moist. Thank-you
