Summer is finally here and the weather has been warm. So warm I can no longer ignore the fact we live five minutes from the beach. We live in a very popular beach destination where thousands of tourists visit every weekend. Often, living so close we forget how beautiful it is here.

Over the years the beach scene has changed a lot for us. We use to drive up on the beach and park where we would spend the day. Now there are very few beaches that still allow this. Luckily for us there is still one close by. This is  a hidden gem. we have a few private access beaches here as well. Much better than the popular, crowded beaches.  At the beach my kids love to dig in the sand and splash in the water. I like to sit on the blanket and read a good book or flip through a magazine. I am also a people watcher. Unless we go at night, then we walk along the boardwalk. When we plan a trip to the beach, for an hour or the day, there is things we need to bring. My children, just like me are very fair. So sunscreen and a source of share is a must. We recently purchased a big umbrella for our sons sports events and have been taking it with us to the beach. But our beach bag itself has gotten low on supplies.

I love where I live but we do not have much for stores. So once a week we head into town and visit Walmart. It is the perfect place to stock up on everything for the home, family and my beach bag. New sunglasses, a cool hat and some fun stuff for the kids was needed. as well as sunscreen, us redheads need to be covered.

A quick trip into town and I got everything I needed. I also got some groceries for the weekend.

We were now beach ready!

I have gotten a few bad burns over the years. This year I have already had a few. So I wanted to make sure I was covered. What do you think?

  4. I love that hat, cute! I always pack sunscreen, towel, drinks etc… I think I will have to adjust now that we have a little one.

  9. Looks like you are all set. Great job protecting your skin and eyes. Looking very stylish!

  10. Love the hat. We don't really have a beach near us and I don't count the river's edge as a beach. But our bag must include water and diapers.

  11. I'm not much of a hat person, unless it's a baseball cap. LOL but it looks great on you! Love the glasses too! I wish I had a beach closer than an hour away 🙁 You're so lucky!

  12. You look great! Wish I could pull off a hat like that. I love the picture of the boardwalk at night – so pretty!

  13. You're so lucky to have a beach near by your house.

    Love the hat on you!
