Truvia Calorie Free Sweetener

truvia-logo

A great-tasting, calorie-free sweetener derived from the best tasting part of the stevia leaf has arrived in Canada. Truvia sweetener, recently approved by Health Canada, offers a great new option to support healthier lifestyle choices.
Truvia sweetener represents a new category of sweeteners from a natural source that can be added to a range of food and beverages. It has a crystal form that sprinkles just like sugar with no unpleasant aftertaste. It’s ideal for coffee, tea and other beverages and on cereal, fruit, oatmeal and yogurt. It can also be used in cooking and baking. One 3g packet of Truvia sweetener provides the same sweetness as two teaspoons (10 mL) of sugar.

There use to be a time, not long ago I could not bring anything into my home that  healthy, light, or calorie free without a headache.  My family would not even try it or give it a chance. Now that my husband is also watching what he eats, he is more open to trying new things. Tasting new items and not worrying about missing out on something. I think a lot of it is in their head. The kids see packaging they are not use to and automatically think they will not like it.

Well I brought Truvia Calorie free sweetener into the house and they could not tell it was not sugar. It looked like sugar and tasted like it. It dissolved in coffee and blended in recipes with ease.

With the taste of sugar and no calories, I am not sure why we did not switch earlier. Even my pickiest child could not tell this was not sugar.
