Dining & Markets in Massachusetts #XploreMass

While year-round dining is spectacular in the Bay State, summer is a favorite time for dining out and for fresh, local fish, vegetables, and fruits.

When traveling you want to taste the local foods, live like the locals. Some are simple, easy to access and fresh, others are magnificent creations that may take a bit of time to find. Best way to find the greatest places to eat are to ask the locals. So that is what we did. Below are some of the suggestions for Massachusetts

Central Massachusetts

The Sole Proprietor, Worcester, Chefs Brian Flagg and Joseph Wong, Sesame Lobster Stir Fry

Named one of the top 10 seafood restaurants in America, The Sole has been a staple of New England seafood for over 30 years, with an emphasis on locally sourced seafood in their ever-changing menu.  Local executive chefs Brian Flagg and Joseph Wong (who specializes in Japanese and Indonesian cuisine) have created a menu that blends traditional New England ingredients with Asian flavors. Try the Sesame Lobster Stir Fry, served with veggies in teriyaki sauce over linguine.

Capt’s Waterfront Grill – Owner -Chef Dirk Isbrandtsen, Lobsta Lobsta Pizza

Famous for his grilled lobster, Owner and Chef Dirk Isbrandtsen takes an American favorite it makes it uniquely Massachusetts with sweet lobster meat and more than delicious with cheddar cheese and truffle oil.

I would be in my glory. I love seafood and if it is fresh it is so tasty. You truly will never have a better meal if you are a seafood lover like I am.

If seafood is not your thing, don’t worry. There is lots of fresh produce and other delights to temp the taste buds.  You can visit some farms directly or meet up with them at the Farmers Market.

All around Massachusetts, indoor and outdoor markets are becoming a weekly part of life for many residents. Offering produce, meat, baked goods, and arts and crafts, the markets provide a place for shopping, browsing, and learning about local producers while also creating space for communities to come together.
