The Perfect Family Getaway @WestinBlueMtn #NaturalHigh, #SummeratBlue

This summer has been truly amazing! I have had the opportunity to visit some wonderful places that are all right here in Ontario. This beautiful province of ours has so much to offer. I am constantly surprised at all there is to see and do here. Last week I got the opportunity to take my children to Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood Ontario and stay in the Westin Trillium House for three days and two nights.

My family had a fabulous time form the very second we pulled up and checked in. Our room was huge and had everything you could possibly need while away. We had a two bedroom suite with a pull out sofa bed. The room also had two balconies and two full bathrooms.  Getting the kids to shower was not a difficult task as they loved the glass shower surrounding, large shower head and huge robes to snuggle in afterwards.  We brought some snacks and cereal and were able to store it in the kitchen and fridge. There was also dish soap and coffee in the room as well as toiletries.

In the lobby we were able to buy snacks and other items if needed. I forgot a brush and the wonderful staff did everything they could to find me one. However they were out and brought me a comb which was perfect. There is also a restaurant and bar as well as game room, gym and pool. During the night I saw some people sitting outside around a fire pit that looked really cozy.

One side of the Westin Trillium had a view of the lake and village, the other the mountain and Gondola as well as bike trails. Everything we needed was just a quick phone call away. The staff was great, polite and willing to go above and beyond to help us out.

We parked underground but could have used valet. There is also a shuttle if you wish to use it to get around. Just be sure to call and confirm with them directly. The Blue Mountain village is a very short walk and so beautiful to walk around. Full of restaurants, shops and attractions it was the place to be. There was so much for us to do there I will be posting again to detail it all.

Just 2 hours northwest of Toronto, Blue Mountain has been known for years as the province’s top rated ski and snowboard destination. The new Village at Blue Mountain features a unique pedestrian community built around a Millpond of activity. The Village mirrors old Ontario and is home to a variety of boutiques, dining, golf, tennis, beach activities and nightlife. Be sure to stop by Plunge! Aqua Centre, open year-round, featuring indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, rope swings, and slides – it’s fun for the whole family!

As pretty as it may be in the winter, we really enjoyed our stay in mid August. The weather was great, the pool fun and the experience like no other. We can not wait to go back. Not sure if my kids loved having their own TVs, bathroom and newspaper at the door or all of the outdoor adventures so close by the most. I do recall a few “You are the best!” comments being directed my way though 🙂 Two out of three of my children fell asleep for the three hour drive home. I guess that is a good sign.

Watch for more of our Blue Mountain adventure in the next few days. Be sure to check them out yourself online as well.

  2. That is also where my family and I went on holiday but did it the cheap way by staying at Craigleith Provincial Park. It is right on the water, has electricity and water hook up and is only 5 minutes from Blue mountain. We go every year and love it.
