Booster Juice

Everyone knows that smoothies are a delicious and tasty treat. What many people don’t know is that smoothies are an excellent way to get the majority of your five a day. For people with busy schedules who are constantly on the go, smoothies are a quick and easy way consume loads of vitamins and provide a much needed energy boost.

Made up of anything from blueberries to carrots, the primary ingredients in any smoothie are typically loads of fruits and vegetables. Yogurt adds the texture and special add ons like ginseng can turn a delicious treat into a nutrition packed boost of health and energy.

Green smoothies are incredibly popular right now. These variations on a traditional smoothie include a wide range of fruits and veggies as well as fibre, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. These smoothies are so versatile and nutritious they can often be supplemented for entire meals.

Loading up a smoothie with fruits, greens, nut butter or a splash of plant-based milk are all great and healthy options, but if you really want to take it up a notch, consider adding a few super supplements that will increase energy and vitality exponentially without sacrificing any of the delicious taste.

Hemp seeds are an incredible source of protein that are easy to digest and contain all the essential amino acids and the perfect ratio of omegas 3,6 and other fatty acids. Hemp seeds have been found to contain the rare essential fatty acid Gamma-Linolenic Acid which has been linked to combatting illnesses like arthritis, eczema, hormonal balance, migraines and even menopause.

Flax seeds are another fantastic addition to a super smoothie as they are full of omega-3 fatty acids, fibre antioxidants and phytonutrients. These seeds have been associated with the prevention of heart disease. Make sure that any flax being added to smoothies are in the ground-up form as the body can’t properly digest whole flax seeds.

The things we put in our bodies are often consumed without much thought or consideration for our overall health and are overly-focused on taste. Smoothies are a delicious treat and an incredible source of vitamins, minerals and other disease-fighting agents that can lead to longer, healthier lives.
