HP Brain Training Challenge 2 #HPFamilyTime #BackToSchool

Last week I started the HP Brain Training Challenge with my youngest who is almost five. Being back to school it was fun to get her to start using her creative thinking and testing out some fun gadgets at the same time. This weeks challenge is

Improve Science Knowledge, Teamwork and Artistic Skills: Educational Games-  Paint and solve puzzles with friends and family on the ENVY Rove20’s 10-point multi-touchscreen and explore the solar system and living cells with visually-striking educational apps from the Windows Store on the 20-inch HD display:

  • Fresh Paint
  • Puzzle Touch
  • Animal Sound Box
  •  Zoo Train
  • Corinth Micro Plant
  • Star Chart

We were surprised to find many free apps available on the ENVY Rove 20. The ones that were not free, were extremely affordable.  The huge touch screen allows little hands and big imaginations to explore with ease.  The large screen also allows me to look over her shoulder and help without obstructing the screen. The wireless keyboard and wireless mouse allow the user to move around and be as creative as they can. The bright colours and different programs are perfect for hours of learning and fun. I find that the Windows 8 program is way easier to use with the touch screen than with the mouse. So much so that my little one has picked it up and can navigate the apps herself.

Corinth Micro Plant app (free)

plantCollageFor any child who loves to learn this app is great. A simple touch to the screen magnifies the tree to see up close to the branch and leaves. Then from there it gets right up close to see every detail and the bacteria.
Fresh Paint (free)

The Fresh paint is amazing! Children can use their finger to paint right on the screen. It is so real looking that I touched it and actually smudged the picture. Luckily there is an undo feature and DD’s masterpiece was saved.

After she was done creating her art work we were able to have it printed off on the ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One  The colour was bright and clear. We then added it to the fridge to display for all to see.
