Keepin It Green- Splash’N Boots & Little Ray CD

I just had the chance to listen to some new children’s music, or rather, I let the real critics in my house, my 2 and 5 year olds, give their opinions.  The album in question is “Keepin It Green”, a collaboration from INDIES 2012 Canadian Children’s Group of the year, Splash’N Boots, and Little Ray, director of eastern Ontario’s largest exotic animal rescue, Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo.  You may also recognize Splash’N Boots from the Treehouse TV show “Roll Play Live”, where they performed as hosts.
 
“Keepin It Green” is a toe tapping, finger snapping, happy children’s 10 track album.  It was made to help children to better appreciate our beautiful country of Canada.  Also, it gives children pointers as to what they can do in their own small way everyday to make a difference in the world.  I like how 1 dollar from every album sold will be going to the Backyard Conservation of Canada.
 
I downloaded the album to my kids mp3 player, and let them wander around the house with it.  I liked how there was such a variety of music genres being played; so that all of the songs seemed unique.  For example, the song, “Tiger Beetlemania”  could have been a Beetles song of yesteryear.  “Arctic Song” was very electronica, and my personal favorite.  My 2 year old liked the catchy repetitiveness of “Recycle” – Re-re-re-re-re-re-recycle.  My five year old’s favourite was the whistle happy catchy tune “Acadian Flycatcher”, which was about flies of course!
 
The “Keepin It Green” album can be found on www.splashnboots.com, as either a downloadable digital album, or a physical CD, and will also be sold at Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo locations across Canada.
