#GingerPride Redheads Online New Monthly Feature- Meet Mommy Outside the Box

As promised in my post last month, I am introducing you to other redheads online.  Below you can see this months feature, Shayna from Mommy Outside the Box.

Describe your red hair colour

My hair is pretty much just “red”.  It’s too dark to be strawberry blonde and not quite dark enough to be auburn. It’s also naturally curly and very coarse.

Tell us a Redheaded stereotype you fit

I am extremely stubborn.  I’m also a Taurus so I’ve got stubborn covered from every angle. Like a lot of redheads I also require more anesthetic to handle pain.  I do, however, have a soul.

Who is your favourite famous redhead dead or alive?
Well I know she’s fictional but I still have to pick Anne of Green Gables.  Being an adoptee with red hair she was sort of my hero growing up.

Are there any redheads in your family? If so how many and how are they related to you?
No redheads in my family.  I was adopted so I kind of stuck out like a sore thumb.  From what I know my birth mother, her sister and her mother all have (had) red hair so I definitely come from red hair stock.

Does the word GINGER offend you ?
I don’t like the word and I don’t use it but I can’t say it really offends me.  I don’t get worked up about it.
What colour do you love to wear with your hair and which do you not?
Despite what I was told growing up, pink is one of my best colors.  But I absolutely cannot wear red.
Tan, freckle or burn?
I’ve got a fair amount of freckles and I definitely burn.  If I “tan” very, very slowly I can turn a darker shade of white – but just barely.

Anything else you want to share?
I LOVE being a red head.  When I was a kid I got teased a little about it.  Other kids would call me carrot top – which I never quite understood because carrot tops are green… But as I got older I learned to love my red hair.  I always get complimented on it and make me stand out in a crowd!
Share with us a pic of your hair. Not creepy (just love all the shades of red)

Anne of Green Gables is an amazing choice. I loved all the mischief she got into (Reason #3 of how you two are alike!?).

My husband says that I'm a redhead that dyes her hair blonde. I get the best of both worlds.
