Our youngest daughter is almost 5 years old. She is a lot younger than our other children. I like to call her my surprise 🙂 People often ask me how we entertain her and how we cope with her being so much younger? Well, honestly it is easy. Every day since we have had her in our lives, it has been brighter. We appreciate things we did not really pay attention to so much with the others. I assume a part of this is age as well experience in parenting. We do not hover over her and do not stress about the little things. This has allowed her to let her imagination run free. She is great at entertaining herself and often plays alone.
I love watching her play and listening in on her conversations. She loves to play with our black lab as well. He is her best friend and she dresses him up and he seems to be fine with it. Or at least likes the attention. She draws pictures, plays with her dolls and even gets her dad and big brothers to have tea parties. It is a warm fuzzy feeling seeing dad and my teen boys wearing feather boas, tiaras and drinking form mini tea cups. She is 100% convinced she is a princess and they are here to serve her.
When we were playing the other day with her Little People, she made believe each was one of us. She set them up so daddy and me sat together (the blonde boy and redhead girl) Eddie and Sofie are their names. One girl looks a lot like her big sis and the other she thought looked like her. The rest were her brothers. Since it was just before Halloween she was acting out how we were going to go Trick or Treating. It was adorable. I love how she mimics our voices. Makes me wonder if that is how I actually talk sometimes 😉

Would love to see your LO having tea with her brothers and Dad. What great sports 🙂 Mine are so good at entertaining themselves or being in a group. I love listening in on what is going on in the Little People worlds that DDs have created. Great fun.
We are loving these new characters too at our house. My kids make up elaborate stories, treat these dolls like their babies and sometimes takes them into the bathtub or sink.
