Don’t let the door hit you on the way out 2013!

changes-ahead

For many the ringing in of the New Year is a joyous occasion, a celebration. For me it is always an emotional time. I reflect on the year that has come to an end and kick myself for not achieving the goals I set. Some realistic, some not so much. I often forget to look at the good and the positive and focus on all the failures and negative.  2013 seemed like a tough year for many. As the year progressed I saw more and more friends losing loved ones, losing jobs and just having a rough go.  For me and the people close to me 2013 seemed to offer more negative than positive. I am hoping 2014 brings change, positive change, hope. I am hoping to be more organized, grow my blog, be more positive and cherish what is important more than ever. My family.

With everything bad that happens something good is around the corner. I believe in karma, good balancing bad. Positive equaling out the negative. Out with the old in with the new and all that 🙂 We had some great times in 2013 and we had some fabulous memories. My children have all done very well and it looks like we may have a future Olympian in our family. My oldest is almost finished college and my other two are brighter and happier than I could ever have hoped for. 2013 for my blog was a good year, a happy year. These are the things I need to remember. Tales of a Ranting Ginger was able to experience many opportunities I would never had imagined. We were able to experience family vacations, behind the scenes experiences and lots of other fun stuff. Unique and memorable stuff.

As I start this year off feeling distant from my parents and my sister. I hold onto the fact that I am closer to my children and my husband than ever before. I am not dwelling on the negative, I am not allowing the stresses of winter and finances bring me down. I am setting realistic goals, making a plan and moving forward.

My positive goals for 2014

This year my daughter will get her diploma

This year my son will compete nationally and possibly qualify for the Youth Olympics

This year we will add onto our house

This year we will have more time together as a family

This year we plan on visiting Disney World again

This year we will be stronger than ever

This year I will not let the negative of the previous year bring me down

I am focused and determined to do the best I can do and be the positive person I want to be. I believe my new positive outlook on life reflects and those around me react from it.

Great article. We should all try to think positively, it does help. My plans for this year are to welcome my 2 new grandchildren to our world – one in Australia and one in Germany. I also plan on visiting my brother in England this summer so this year will a year of travelling and hugging people and being grateful for life itself.

I love this entry!!!! We've a bit going on this year. I have a daughter leaving tomorrow for college in Toronto, another having a baby by c section on March 28. We don't really make resolutions, goals are an on going thing with us… we try daily to be good people and work on changes or adjustments within ourselves that we want to make. Not always easy, but we don't wait for the New Year …
