Easy Hamburger Stew Recipe

One of our family faves is Hamburger Stew. Another recipe I usually just do up on the fly depending on what I have in stock. Great for cold winter days and those days you are in a rush. Serve over mashed potatoes, on rice or with bread. Very tasty!  I grew up with my mom making this and have tweaked it a bit to fit my picky family.

Prep time is short and cooking time is quick. Feeds a large family with lots of leftovers

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cups Green Beans frozen or canned
  • 1 can Whole Kernel Corn 1 can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 can ready-to-serve beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup of water
  • potatoes (MASHED)

Step by Step instructions

  • In large saucepan, cook ground beef and onion over medium-high heat until beef is cooked, stirring frequently. Drain once cooked.
  • Add all remaining ingredients; mix well. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat; cover and simmer 10 minutes or until thoroughly heated, stirring occasionally.
  • Cook and mash potatoes (or rice)
  • Serve over mashed potatoes

Corn and beans can be replaced with carrots or other vegetables or omitted completely. I like mine a bit thicker so I use gravy thickener (corn starch) But my kids prefer more gravy lol The last time I made this I only added the corn (No beans or carrots)

I think this would be a family favourite here too! I love carrots so I think I would add those. I love the idea of using mushroom soup too! Thank you for the recipe and taking the time to post it!!
