There are a few things in life that remind me of my childhood. One of these things is homemade chocolate chip cookies. It never mattered what day of the week it was or what time of the day, my grandma always had chocolate chip cookies at her house. She had so many I could eat them until my tummy hurt and there was still enough for others. Personally I like them soft and chewy with a glass of milk. My kids however like them a bit more cooked. Today I attempted to bake cookies. The first batch turned out perfectly. The second not so perfect, I blame the cookie sheet 🙂
Chocolate chip cookies
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine 175 mL
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar 250 mL
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar 125 mL
- 1 tsp vanilla 5 mL
- 2 eggs 2
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 550 mL
- 1 tsp baking soda 5 mL
- 1 tsp salt 5 mL
- 1 3/4 cups Chocolate Chips 270 g
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Then in a large bowl, beat butter, and sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla until creamy.
Mix together flour, baking soda and salt in a smaller bowl. Then add to butter mixture. Stir in milk chocolate chips. Drop cookie mixture by the spoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. I seem to have better luck with wax paper personally.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Serve with milk, tea or on their own 🙂

your recipe sounds good. My favourite chocolate chip cookie recipe is one that uses shortening and cake and pastry flour. It is one my mom made us. Very delicate in texture and amazingly yummy.
