Slow Cooker Pulled Pork recipe

Having the kids home for winter holidays means long days and lots of family time. It means I have less time to cook as well. So I have been enjoying my slow cooker. I love love love it! It really makes life easy. Hubs found a great deal on pork shoulder the other day so it gave me the perfect excuse to cook up some pulled pork. We had enough to feed 7 for dinner with lots of leftovers for lunch the next day. And it was delicious! You do not need to be a skilled chef to make this tasty, filling meal for your family. Trust me, as I am not 🙂

Place pork in slow cooker and cover with water. Add in diced onion and garlic. Cook on medium heat for 6-8 hours. The longer the better. Add water as needed.  You will be able to start shredding the pork as it cooks through with a fork. An hour before serving you can drain the pork and add the barbecue sauce. Serve on buns with cheese. If you want a sweeter option you can re[place the water with rootbeer or cola.
