Valentine’s Day with Olivieri Pasta #Recipes4Romance & Contest Alert

How do you celebrate your love? Valentine’s Day does not need to be the only day you do this. It is a nice reminder though to get out of the every day routine and appreciate your loved one in a special way.

My husband and I have been together for a long time. With four children it is easy to forget we are more than mom and dad. So we try to get out once a week and just hang out together. We go for lunch, go shopping or have dinner and a few drinks with one another. Anything to be alone and show each other we still care and are still more than parents.  Sometimes schedules and funds do not make going out an option. When this happens we stay in and make the best of it. You can not really have a romantic evening with a house full of kids. But time together is what matters, and family time is always good 🙂 Time at home for us is usually is a yummy meal for the family and a movie. Every once in a while I like to show him I think he is special and remember to cook up his faves.

Often meals at home are quick and easy and appealing to all. But this time I wanted to do something special, just for us.

Quick, easy and affordable are still factors in this meal planning. But this time I made it more geared towards romance, grown up friendly. Olivieri Pasta made this so simple to do. I created two meals for less than $20 for the two of us. Perfect for Valentine’s Day! There was even some leftover for the kids!

Living where I do I could not find the heart shaped Ravioli anywhere. But we have limited stores so I bet you have better luck in the city. I did however pick up other pastas from Olivieri.

I made Ravioli with brown butter sauce and Tortellini Caesar salad

BRING a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.

HEAT butter in a large skillet over medium until lightly browned and frothy. Add the cooked pasta to the pan and toss to coat with brown butter. Sprinkle with half the Parmesan cheese.

SERVE pasta sprinkled with additional Parmesan cheese and topped with sliced tomatoes

dinner for two

This was really good and we loved the cheese. Fresh Parmesan cheese is always nice. I added the tomatoes to give it some colour.  Great for dinner or lunch for two.

Tortellini Caesar salad (cold)

  • Caesar Salad dressing 1/4 cup
  • Grated Parmesan cheese 1/4 cup

Prep time 5 minutes Cook time 10 minutes
