20 uses for Coconut Oil

coconut oil

Are you looking for a perfect product that is versatile for so many things?! For a long time I was essentially looking for the Swiss Army knife of beauty products! After going through so many products good and bad I finally found one that is great for MANY uses! It is coconut oil! That’s right, I said it. Coconut Oil! It’s surprisingly great for beauty needs!

1. Cheek Highlighter! Apply a small amount to your cheekbones, then apply makeup as usual! You’ll notice a special glow about your cheekbones and how great they look!
2. Shaving lotion: Coconut Oil is great for shaving because since it is an oil you get an extremely close shave and coconut oil is very moisturizing for your skin! So it moisturizes as you shave
3. Facial and Body scrubs: mix coconut oil with sea salt! It’s a moisturizing, great exfoliant!
4. Makeup Remover! Applying this to your face, your makeup just wipes right off! Not to mention once again it doubles as a facial moisturizer!
5. Homemade Deodorant: Look up a simple deodorant recipe and mix in your coconut oil! You’ll have an awesome scent and you’ll save money by making it at home!
6. Homemade Lip Balm: You can simply apply coconut oil to your lips directly and they’ll be baby soft and totally kissable (:
7. Diaper Rash Cream: Babies got beauty needs too! Applying this to your babies butt will keep it moisturizer, preventing any chaffing or diaper rash!
8. Stretch Mark Preventer: Applying this is a natural way of preventing stretch marks! Especially during a pregnancy for example!
9. Massage oil! This works great for massage because the scent of coconut is calm and relaxing and it’s a great moisturizer!
10. Body Moisturizer: Replace your regular body lotion with coconut oil and you’ll have super smooth, soft skin!
11. Coconut Oil is great for preventing age spots!
12. Sunburn Care: This soothes burnt skin just as though Aloe Vera would
13. Tanning Oil: Great for applying when you’re laying out trying to catch some sun!
14. Mix it in with your bath water! If you just soak it in, your skin will be super soft and moisturized
15. Feet treatment: Apply to feet and cover with socks, let it soak in and then rinse off!
16. Elbow cream: Our elbows are one of the first places to get dry! Using coconut oil will keep them moisturized and smooth
17. Deep conditioner for your hair! Apply to hair, leave on overnight and shampoo out in the morning!
18. Flyaway Tamer: Apply a VERY light amount to smooth down those crazy flyaways!
19. Split end remedy: apply to ends, it helps to seal them back together reducing damage and split ends in your hair!
20. Static Reducer: Apply a small amount from mid shaft to ends of hair, this will make your hair not a all staticy during the winter!

Do you have one you would like to add?

  1. Some great uses for Coconut Oil! I didn't know about some of them 🙂 I wonder about using it for a Shaving lotion though. Any shaving products I've used that have had any kind of oil in them tend to clog up my razor.

Heard if you put a tsp in your mouth first thing in the morning and swish it around for twenty minutes it helps bad breath, teeth stains and removes toxins from your mouth. Spit out into the garbage though as it can clog your pipes when it solidifies.

  14. Great list of uses. I use cosmetic coconut oil from NOW to remove my eye makeup every night – works great. I will have to try some of the other used – I know the sunburn one works well as I used it last week on my son when we were in FL and his neck got a little sunburned – didn't have any aloe but decided I would try the coconut oil – he said it felt better.
