The Bird Kingdom Easter visit

One of our family fave places to go while in Niagara Falls in the Bird Kingdom. We visited for the first time last year and fell in love with the animals. It is an amazing place to spend some time and hang out with the birds. Fun for all ages, young and old. Finding the Bird Kingdom is easy. If you are driving down Clifton Hill, turn left at the bottom and you will see it on the left. There is covered, paid parking next door as well.

Take a self guided tour through the Bird Kingdom at your own pace. Visit the old museum and see the history of Niagara Falls and the Natural history section. Check out the animals throughout the Building. You can have a meet and greet with the exotic birds and reptiles as well as feed some birds in the aviary.

With 400 birds flying free and 80 species you will have lots of photo opps. We love hanging out by the 40 ft waterfall and watching the birds walk and fly by. It is a tropical environment so it is warm. Lots of places to sit and accessible to people with wheel chairs. Everyone in my family has a different spot they love. My youngest enjoys the fish and digging in the nocturnal room for an archaeological find. While my boys enjoy the up close encounters with all of the animals. Myself, I love feeling close to nature and having the birds fly by my head. I also have a soft spot for the Macaws, as we have one ourselves 🙂 Below are some of our pictures from our recent visit.

Bunnies, and since it was Easter there was an egg hunt. You had a check list and answered the question for each coloured egg you found throughout the building. At the end the child received a treat. The Bird Kingdom is open all year long, so great for holiday travelers.

One of the many birds walking around us. I loved the beautiful colours of this birds feathers. Kind of redhead like 🙂

The waterfall inside the Bird Kingdom is awesome! You can see the birds at the top and people taking pictures on the other side. The walk way surrounds it and goes through the back. Every step along the way takes you to see another animal walking or flying around. Bird feeders are set up throughout as well.

At a fast pace you would spend 1-2 hours seeing everything in the Bird Kingdom. We truly enjoy it and look forward to visiting again.

  3. My kids would go gaga over this! Sounds like such a good time!!

  4. I have never been here– but we have some awesome birds here close to home. We live just a mile or so from the Cuyahoga Valley National Park– and there is a spot where hundreds (seriously, hundreds!) of blue herons come to nest every spring. A few miles from that is a nest where bald eagles come every year to lay eggs– there are too fuzzy little eaglettes in the nest right now– it is so cool.
