Captain America: The Winter Soldier Movie Premiere

Captain America: The Winter Soldier flies into theaters this weekend and for fans of Marvel, The Avengers and indeed The Cap himself (such as moi!), this movie will not let you down.

I won’t spoil it for the die-hards, but I will give one tip: stay until the very end! There are two little scenes, one part way through the credits and one after they are done. You can tell the true fans from the non’s by how many stayed in the theater to see these…of course I was one of them. 😉

The special effects are fantastic, but they don’t take away from the plot which sadly seems to happen in a lot of movies now. And it is a great storyline I assure you. A lot of twists I wasn’t expecting, and a lot of revelations and hints of what is to come too.

Loose ends were tied up and a new beginning was forged. That aspect of the plot alone will ring true with fans who have also seen Iron Man III. It also raises speculation as to how the next Avengers movie is going to go. Hubby and I were discussing theories all the way home last night as a result.

The characters were great once again, and there are really some great little one-liners. I love that about the franchise, it makes it more believable.

The introduction of new characters such as ‘The Falcon’ went great and we got some more insight into Black Widow and Steve (The Cap) too. There was one funny part with Falcon at the beginning that made me giggle as a runner. If you are a runner too, you’ll get it, ‘On Your Left!’. 😉

There was not one aspect of this movie that disappointed me, it will hold a proud spot on my shelf with the others in the series the moment it comes out, until then, I may have to make a second trip to the big screen ;).

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off assailants sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is produced by Kevin Feige, p.g.a., directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, and stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp and Hayley Atwell, with Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
