Super Fruit Smoothie with Giveaway #NaturallyAtHome

super fruit smoothie

Super fruits, do you know why they are so super?

Super fruits are great for you and taste fabulous! They are packed with antioxidants, fiber, vitamins and minerals, and other nutrients that can help you live longer, look better, and even prevent disease. I try to get my share of these every day but find the best way is in a smoothie. Each fruit has its own benefits and I mix it up depending on what I need at that time.

Açaí berries, cranberries, grapes, black berries and pomegranate is great for antioxidants, fighting illness and infection. Apples and tomatoes are full of fibre and taste way better than any other form I find. Bananas help with muscle growth and the potassium lowers your blood pressure and helps boost your metabolism. Other super fruits are blueberries, cantaloupe, cherries, lemons and limes, kiwi, avocados, and raspberries. Pineapple is another that helps with your digestion and reduces bloating.

Add in some protein like yogurt or peanut butter and you have the start of a great smoothie.

I have talked before about how being a redhead makes me feel pain more than others. Often I get aches and pains warning me of something to come. My kidney may ache telling me I need to drink more fluids or I may feel cramps before menstruation even begins. I listen to these symptoms and try to eat foods that help with these. There are a few I eat more than others. Having had kidney issues before, I try to eat a lot of foods high in Antioxidants.

For the last few weeks I have been concentrating on my immune system. Staying healthy as the seasons change and everyone around me is getting sick. Also getting ready for a vacation and enjoying life.  So I created a Super Fruit Smoothies to help me with this.

Super Fruit Smoothie

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of raspberries (I prefer frozen because of the texture for my smoothie)
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 cup of plain yogurt
  • 4 spears of pineapple
  • 2 scoops of ND Shake
  • drops of tinctures as directed on bottle. I have been using the Panax Ginseng, The Red Raspberry and Holy Basil lately
  • 1 cup of orange juice

Blend on high for 3 minutes. Drink as a meal. I love it as a breakfast on the go!

A little about Tinctures

Healing with speed and convenience

Tinctures combine the traditional healing power of plants with the convenience families need. Take them straight underneath your tongue, or add drops to your water, teas and smoothies.

Fast-acting and effective

Tinctures are far more effective than swallowing a pill! The body can absorb up to 98% of the medicinal components in a herbal tincture since absorption takes place immediately in the mouth. Herbs in tablet form must first be broken down by the digestive system so absorption is lower and slower.

100% organic or wild-crafted ingredients

Our herbs are grown by trusted, certified organic farming or wildcrafting partners in North America. Click here to learn more about our craft of tincture making.
