My oldest daughter was born in May, 20 years ago. I was a teen mom still in high school when she was born. I grew up very quickly and discovered things about myself and life in general, quicker than most. I have no regrets and cherish every moment of the last twenty years. As a mom I have changed a bit though. Four children later and having a fifteen year age gap from the oldest to the youngest, I have learned a few things.
Time flies fast! Slow down your life and smell the roses. Before you know it your children are grown and on their own.
Don’t sweat the little things! I use to worry and stress and hover over my children until I realized they need to grow. They need to learn and make mistakes. Be there when they need it, but let them explore the world around them.
Trust your gut! Everyone wants to offer moms, especially new moms advice. Take what you need but draw your own conclusions. If you listen to every word of advice out there, you will go crazy. Listen to your gut and do what is best for you, your family and your children. You know them best!
Most of all enjoy your children and smile. If you are stressed and worried they feel that and will be as well.

Being a mom is a tough job, but the BEST job! So every May is Mothers day, but it is also the month I started my life as a mom.
