So like many teens my fourteen year old loves anything techie. He is a computer wiz and gaming enthusiast. He can often be found playing video games, Googling the latest phrase or fixing something I messed up on my phone. For him technology is second nature. He loves it and is constantly learning new things with it.
So when I was asked if the Sphero 2.0 was something we would want to check out, I had to say yes!
Tech savvy children will love this cool new tech toy. Orbotix, known for their innovative tech gadgets, has created Sphero 2.0. Controlled by your iOS or Android, Sphero 2.0 rolls seven feet per second, turns your living room into a video game with augmented reality apps and brings programming off the computer and into real life. Kids will love to play with this robotic ball indoors and outdoors during their summer holiday.
Powered with a new engine, Sphero 2.0 is capable of rolling at speeds of up to 7 feet per second. Trust us, this thing hauls. And that’s just the beginning. There’s a whole new world of gameplay waiting to be discovered with Sphero.
Before I could even read how to use the Sphero, my son had it linked to his phone , lit up and rolling around on the floor. He quickly and easily downloaded the app that allowed control over the ball. He was able to move it as he wanted or map out a route and watch it follow through. It lit up to bright red and blue and bounced in place. I think this is a fun toy for any age.
The Sphero 2.0 is waterproof, petproof and cleans up nicely. You can buy it on its own with charger and ramps for $129.99 Sphero 2.0 rolls at speeds of up to 7 feet per second and pairs to your device via Bluetooth with a range of up to 100 feet. Powered by induction charging, Sphero 2.0 is three times brighter than the original that you can buy for $79.99.
For $14.99 you can add a nubby to yours and change the colour and give it some added protection against dirt and water 🙂
My son keeps trying to come up with new things for his to do. So far it can do all of them. Go up ramps, curbs etc. This would make a great gift for anyone. It also helps get the techie kids out and about a bit more. See where to buy one near you
Check out Sphero 2.0 online, on Twitter and Facebook
