Picnics are a fun and frugal way to spend time with your family. A picnic doesn’t have to be a pain to arrange, in fact, it can be quite the opposite: sweet and simple! Take a peek below at 5 easy snacks for picnics that you can try. These are snacks that are tasty, thrifty, and sure to be palette pleasers for the whole family. Take a look and be inspired!

1. Sandwich Swirls

In a tortilla shell, wrap up slices of various cheeses and meats. Add a little sandwich spread if you wish. Roll tightly and then cut the roll into slices. The end result is swirl shaped, bite size sandwich that everyone will love to snack on.

2. Cucumber Sandwiches

Slice cucumbers and make sandwiches out of them using dips, cheese, even lunch meats. Use the cucumber slices in place of the bread and when you are done you will have some tasty, bite size fun. Plus, this is a great healthy option!

3. Chicken Salad Spread

Make your own chicken salad spread that can be eaten on crackers or used as a vegetable dip. Simply mix a can of chicken, a cup of mayo, a tablespoon of mustard, and some chopped celery and pickle. Mix well and add salt and pepper to taste. This is a spread that can be eaten all sorts of ways!

4. Trail Mix

Build your own trail mix when you bring baggies of peanuts, chocolate chips, coconut, pretzels, and other small snack foods. Let each person build their own bag of trail mix to their liking. Now that is fun and frugal.

5. Dipped Apples

Cut apples into slices and dip them in peanut butter. Then, roll them in coconut, shaved chocolate, or sunflower seeds. That will make for a fun, hands on dessert that kids and adults both will love.
