A couple weeks back I found myself in Ohio without the family. I was attending a blog conference that happened to be held on Cedar Point, Roller Coaster capital of the world. We stayed on site at The Breakers Hotel and were given passes to check out the park. Not having the family with me, I honestly thought it would not be for me. However I was wrong! There was so much to see and do I am so glad I went. I am now planning a trip back with the family. I hope to visit a few times, especially again in the fall. This is why,
5 Reasons Cedar Point Rocks Fall
The weather
Being next to lake Erie Cedar Point is cooler in the Fall. A great time to throw on a sweater and take advantage of the park. The cool lake breeze compliments the beautiful sun shine.
It is Spooky for family fun
There are Halloween themed rides, Peanuts characters, signage and more throughout the park. All family friendly until night falls. The parade is full of school bands, cheerleaders, people in costume handing out candy and fun music.
It is scary for those who want it to be
Once evening hits, the monsters fill the park. There are haunted houses throughout each with a theme. Fog machines help create a creepy feel and the park is transformed until closing at midnight. A scary fun time! Don’t worry, the monsters, zombies and crazy clowns will not touch you.
Short lines
School for locals starts mid August. So many are not in the park. With most people traveling int he summer for amusement parks many do not think to go in the Fall. It is awesome! Short lines, early entry if you stay onsite and comfortable temperatures.
So close
Only four hours to drive from the Windsor/Detroit borer Cedar Point is a great weekend getaway for residents in Ontario. There are lots of local attractions, the hotel has a pool and there are many family friendly restaurants close by. I personally do not like Fall fair rides as they are put up and down so often. I much rather head somewhere more permanent. They even have a barn on site with farm animals for you to feed and pet.
Check out Cedar Point for yourself and see what is going on. But hurry, they close for the season Nov 2nd. I had not been since I was a child and I had a blast walking around, riding the train and seeing the parade.
The first photo should be #6 "The view/scenery is absolutely beautiful". I have always wanted to visit Cedar Points. If I end up going with my hubby to his conference next Spring, I am putting this on our "to do list". Looks like a great attraction to see with or without kids.
