Having two teens who love gaming and YouTube as well as a family that loves Netflix and myself who works online from home, we need a good internet connection. WiFi is a must ! And dropping a connection is a huge headache. Our old router had glitches. If the furnace kicked in the router would drop. If we were too far from the router unit, the connection would be sketchy. Never something we could count on. 

I was excited to try out the Nighthawk X6 Tri-Band WiFi Router. We set it up, and by we I mean my teen set it up. The NETGEAR Genie walked him through it and it was super easy and fast. The unit is bigger than our old router so we had to make some room for it. Changed the name on the connection and synced our devices. There were three connections to choose from. One was really strong and great for multiple devices and connections. The other we hardly use and the third is great for distance. Out in the yard, garage and far side of the house we can get a WiFi connection. Where before we could not.

We have both Apple and Android devices connected. Laptops and tablets as well as our phone and Roku, all are working fine and running smoothly. I have seen this unit for sale online and in store for less than $300

Over the years we have had many routers for WiFi and found many did not do what we needed. I was very happy with the NETGEAR Nighthawk X6. We have been using it for almost three weeks and have had no issues or drops in service.
