With tons of holiday events, parties and extravaganzas around the corner, it is time to start thinking about some fun Winter Party Games For School Aged Kids. Whether you are throwing a party in your home for your kid’s friends, or you are on the PTO and helping to organize class parties – this is the time to shine. Pull together some great and fun classic and new games to entertain the kids while having fun indoors.

Scavenger Hunt: This classic party game and event is perfect for wintertime fun. Give kids a bag to put their finds in, a list and let them loose in your yard, neighborhood and home to see what they can scavenge.

Erupting Snow: This is a fun way to get their hands dirty and have fun together. Get several boxes of baking soda and pour into a shallow dish. Mix in just enough water for the baking soda to start sticking together to form a dough. Have kids get their hands in the mix and form “snowballs” with this fun dough. You can add in things like glitter and food coloring if desired. Once all of the snowballs have been made, pass the kids each a small squirt bottle with plain white vinegar. Watch as they pour vinegar onto their snowballs for the reaction to happen and the snow erupt. Tons of fun and great for “playing in the snow” winter parties.

Build An Igloo: Give each child a mixed bag of large and small marshmallows, toothpicks and a tube of plain white icing. Have them compete with each other to build a fun edible igloo. You can add in other fun candies to make it similar to a gingerbread house competition as well, if desired. Have them do this on a simply paper plate, or piece of cardboard that has been covered in foil or wax paper for easy cleanup.

Match The Mitten Hunt: Grab several pairs of inexpensive mittens or gloves. One pair for each player, plus a few extras. Before guests arrive, hide those mittens all around the house. Separate and hide different colors in different places. This is a game of matching mittens into sets. Getting as many different colors as possible is best. Hide the different mittens for each set in crazy places where kids have to dig and hunt to find a proper match is tons of fun for them and you.

This winter throw a great party for your kids and use these fun winter party games! You’ll have a blast watching them search and find new things, create fun science projects and tear down an igloo they just built to eat!
