As a mom of 4, I can tell you, keeping my growing brood in clothes can cost a small fortune. Luckily I do have 3 boys, so there is always the potential for hand me downs (if they don’t blow out a knee) but I still always spend time looking for the best deals I can get.
I shop second hand quite often, especially when they are little. Up to about the age of 4 or 5 as they tend to outgrow before they outwear most clothes, so when I was asked if I wanted to check out Flipsize.ca , a company that sells second hand kids clothing for really great prices, I jumped at the chance.
I found some really amazing deals and I ended up getting 10 items for $38 and after shipping which costs $9.99, my total spent was $47.99. I ordered on December 5th and I received my package on December 14th. My favourite deal was a London Fog snowsuit for my little man in immaculate shape for only $4.50! That is about the same price as two coffees from Tim Hortons. I mean look at this thing! It looks like it was never even used.
Although they don’t have a large selection of clothing for my bigger boys, the selection for my youngest was great. I got 5 things for him including 2 really cute pairs of overalls (the one for $3.50 is fleece lined and perfect for our cold Canadian winter), 2 sweat outfits (1 of which had the tags still on it), 2 cute outfits for my sister’s new baby girl (one is 5 pieces for only $7.00), 1 really awesome rainbow tutu for my other niece and a nice pair of jeans for my 6 year old.
I was completely impressed with the quality considering the clothes were second hand and the fact that two of the outfits still had tags on them. The ease of using the site and finding and looking at what I was purchasing was really great too. Their “no dud” promise means what you see is what you get, so no surprises.
They also have a “Flip Bag” that you can order from them that allows you to send them new or gently used clothes in exchange for clothes, points (which earn the equivalent of .05 for every point earned) and cash. They have a whole explanation of this feature on their website here. This is another great service where you can help someone else get what they need and you get what you need in return.
I think that I could visit Flipsize again in the future and maybe even try out the “Flip Bag” myself.

I like that it's well organised and easy to find what you need to look at. Prices are super and the clothes look to be in very good condition – only wish there'd been something like this when my 7 were small.
I love that there's a relatively easy way to buy and sell used kids clothing online now. There's no point in spending a ton on kids clothing when they grow out so fast.
