No mater where I go in the world if I tell people I am from Canada they automatically assume Toronto. Every single time! Even when I try to explain where I am actually from they go on and on about the big city in the heart of Canada and the CN Tower and everything else. So I smile and just decide it is easier to not argue it. It does however go to show how well known Toronto is and how people all around the world recognize the CN Tower. I am always shocked to find people who live in the GTA or even Ontario who have never been to the CN tower themselves. So I made sure on our recent trip that I took my children.
My boys had already been before on a class filed trip, but this was the first time for little one. It was also the first time I got to go up with them. We had CityPASS passes that allow you to enjoy local attractions at a discounted price. If you plan on sightseeing you should get them. You will be glad you did.
Being March Break we were worried it would be buys, however it was morning and the lines were short. We waited for only a few minutes to take the elevator up and there was lots of space for viewing once at the top. The elevator went quick and one side was all glass as well as half the floor. Perfect for getting a handle on how far up you actually are.

For a twoonie you can look through one for the viewers or get yourself a souvenir pressed nickel. There was a snack bar, restaurants and a play area for kids and a spot for moms to rest. Lots of tourists from around the world but very family friendly!
There are lots of areas to interact and learn more about the CN Tower, its construction and even Canada. In the gift shop at the lower level there were athletes from the Pan Am games there doing demonstrations and talking to fans. One level up by stairs there were also many opportunities for photos and fun. I suggest waiting to see all of this until you have been tot he top so you can take your time and enjoy.

When we were down we took a cab back to teh hotel for lunch. It was about a 30 minute walk but the $9 we spent on the cab saved our feet. I enjoyed going up the CN Tower and loved that my youngest and my teens had a lot of fun. My boys really enjoyed the displays that allowed them to learn about the tower and its history. They also liked the glass floor, but it scared me so I stayed off of it 🙂

I have never been to Canada but me and my husband have talked a lot about it and we didn't know where to start or even if there were attractions to keep our 4 year old busy. Love City pass we got one in Niagara Falls a few summers ago. Most definitely worth it. Love the CN tower too, it’s one of my all time fave places!

I really want to get a CityPass because you get to do so many more things than just one specific pass to a certain place. We did the City Pass in Socal and it was awesome, we got to do so much more with it.
I have not been to the CN Tower in years. I will have to go again this summer. I only live an hour away. It is such a beautiful view from the top.
What an interesting place to visit. I love the sign about the glass floor. Those kinds of fun facts are great tid bits for a vacation spot. I've never been there. I think visiting would be fun.
