When in the City, Milestones is great for lunch!

You may have noticed I was in Toronto last week with the kids. I had been sharing our adventures on Social media the entire time we were away . We were staying right downtown Toronto and of course enjoying everything there was to see and do while there. When in the city one thing I love to do is get in some shopping, what better place to shop than Yonge-Dundas Square and the Eatons Centre located directly across from one another. Spring was finally here and the sun was shining bright, so it was a great day. The entertainment on the streets was out in full swing and the streets were packed with people. We took a break from our entertainment and shopping excitement to grab lunch at Milestones. A very unique Milestones located up four escalators in Yonge-Dundas square with a view of all the action, inside and out.

The modern urban restaurant with lots of seating including extra large booths was a great welcoming spot for our lunch. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. It did not take us long to figure out what we wanted to have and place our order. I love being able to sit down for lunch and have a server bring me food rather than a food court of fast food option when shopping. It is an opportunity to relax, unwind and chat with whoever I am out with. Milestones is kid friendly but definitely a place for adults to go and eat. A great place for a girls lunch or date night as the atmosphere is very sophisticated and urban. They are casual-upscale with a menu that contains a wide variety or options for those who appreciate treating their taste buds.  They have gluten free and vegan options available on their menu to choose from as well.

The food was amazing as always!

We started with chicken wings served with a side of sauce as I was unsure how hot the Cajun rub would be and a Baked Goat cheese & Roasted garlic flat bread plate served with cranberry relish and fig jam. So many sweet and spicy tastes made up for a great combination and fantastic lunch.

I had the Cajun Seafood Fettuccine full of spicy prawns, mussels,  salmon and calamari all in a creamy sauce served with garlic toast. For a lunch in a bowl this was a large portion and every bite was as good as the first.

My teens were with me and the one seems to make it his mission to eat steak every time we are on holidays. I swear he is on the look out for the best!

This 8oz top sirloin steak was grilled to perfection and served with buttermilk mashed potatoes and veggies as well as red wine jus for a little extra flavour. The serving size was perfect for him and the steak was great! Very tasty!

My other teen who normally orders a burger decided to go with the Crispy chicken sandwich covered with a Cajun batter and served with fries instead of the slaw .

The kids menu for those under 12 years of age, is like no other I have seen before. Healthy options, many are smaller versions of the adult meals. My chicken loving daughter chose the grille chicken (Skinless) that came with toasted marshmallow ice-cream. She loved it! The kids meal includes a drink and dessert.

They were great to customize our meals as needed excluding some ingredients and placing other son the side.

Next time you are in the city and looking for a place to eat, check out Milestones for fresh food, great taste and lots of variety. The atmosphere is breathtakingly beautiful!

The Cajun Seafood Fettuccine is one of my favourite items on their menu. I hope to get back there again soon and have it again, maybe a girls lunch is in order!
