Family fun with Super Mario 3D world and Nintendo Wii U #NintendoCanada

Nintendo Wii U

Growing up we had the original Nintendo game system. My sister and I spent many hours playing alone or against each other enjoying the fun! So when I had children of my own I was excited to relive those days. Having children in different age categories I really needed a system that could cater to them all. I often found other systems to not have as many family friendly or young child geared games. When the Wii U system arrived I was pleased to see my teens were interested in playing it. I was also happy to see there were games we could get that they alone would enjoy.

We had an old Wii from when my older children were small. The wand controller from that was able to be used with the new system.

Wii U Game pad

The Wii U comes with a larger controller, the game pad. This is perfect for my youngest as she likes to look down at a screen, similar to a tablet. It shows what is on the TV screen and lets her touch the screen to play the game as well as use the buttons. I find the wands are a bit more challenging for her. Being able to combine the game pad, the old wands and the new wands were easily had enough controllers for the entire family to play.

The games were have been enjoying are Super Mario 3D world (came in the bundle), Nintendo-land (pre installed) and Mario Party 10. The new system allows actual games (disks) as well as downloads via codes to be played.
