Spiced rum is one of my all time favourite beverages all year long. I love that I can mix it with anything, drink it on its own or cook with it. The flavour combination is like nothing else and always is very pleasing.
Introducing Chic Choc Spice rum
When the love affair between the town rebel and the mayor’s daughter was exposed, he was punished by official decree: scale the unforgiving Chic Choc mountains to retrieve rare spices guarded by a ferocious beast. An impossible feat. Rum bottle in hand, our rebel set off. He returned weeks later, curiously unscathed, spices steeping in his bottle. For decades since, Chic Choc Spiced Rum has been enjoyed by daring explorers, adventurers and thrill-seekers alike.
Onward! Your audacious path awaits.
Created using premium agricultural rum and a selection of Nordic Quebec spices from Quebec’s own Chic Choc Mountains, Chic Choc Spiced Rum redefines the industry standard and is the first ever spiced rum to originate from Quebec. Daring and adventurous, Chic Choc is the perfect complement to a variety of cocktails.
Nordic spices:
- Peppery Green Alder
- Pine Forest Spikenard
- Whiterod Berries
- Lovage Root
- Sweet Gale Seeds
- Wild Angelica
Colour- Amber, bright and slightly coppery recalling caramel and honey
Smell-Reveals a spicy bouquet with nuances of sugar cane and cinnamon complemented by a subtle peppery tone
Taste- Round and balanced with a rich texture, with notes of vanilla, ginger and Nordic spices. A supple attack leaving a long, warm and pleasant mouthfeel.
I personally am a rum and juice girl. A shot of spiced rum over a fruit juice with ice like pictured above. This is my favourite way to drink it. The spicy fruity combination of this Canadian rum was amazing! I can not wait to try it out with other juices. You can buy it at LCBO and licensed establishments now.
