Staying at the Newly Renovated Hotel Breakers & Having Tons of Family Fun at Cedar Point! #BloggingatCP

Recently I was invited to attend Cedar Point and check out the newly renovated Hotel Breakers, Sadly life happens and I had to change my plans. Luckily my good friend was able to attend for me. Check out her experience below. Cedar-Point-Hotel-Breakers-01

Hotel Breakers.

We travel often and we’ve stayed in many hotels over the years. While I love a hotel that is modern and new, I absolutely love hotels that have a rich history.

Hotel Breakers was built in 1905 and its General Manager, George A. Boeckling described Cedar Point as the “Coney Island of the West.” When it opened, it had 605 rooms and their café could seat over 400. Over the years, it’s been an iconic part of Cedar Point.

Living in a border city, I have many memories of Cedar Point in my childhood, adolescences and adulthood with my own kids. Growing up, we went 1-2 times a year. To get out of the heat and enjoy a good meal we ate at Hotel Breakers regularly.

Change is Good.

We had the chance to stay at Hotel Breakers late last month and I was so excited to learn that the 2- year renovation was finished! The hotel was inspired by chateaus that Boeckling saw in his travels in France and it is something I’ve always loved about the Hotel.

Even though we visited Hotel Breakers many times, we’ve never had the chance to stay! So to say that we were elated may be an understatement.

The hotel lobby is gorgeous, there is a playful theme and while it has been re-imagined from the ground up, it still has that luxurious and very French feel. You also have to love their lobby’s remaining round seats that many have enjoyed over the years.

Fuel to Ride.

The rooms are fabulous and colorful. The beds were incredibly comfortable and for a family of 4, we all slept well. I especially love the Ferris wheel above our heads and it makes me feel as we will have dreams of fun for the next day and make memories for a lifetime.

Each guest room features an LCD TV, dorm-sized refrigerator, microwave plus new bedding, décor and furniture.

Everything You Need.

The park itself will keep you plenty busy and you don’t often spend a lot of time in the rooms. It is nice to be able to have a gorgeous room to come “home” to and it really does have everything you need. The room has a clean bathroom, quality toiletries, wall safe and plenty of storage for the whole family. The fridge is great for keeping your beverages cool!

Explore.

Weather is definitely unpredictable, on our first day we had a lot of rain! We didn’t worry about it because that gave us plenty of time to explore the hotel property and do one of the girls’ favorite things–swim!

The rotunda was breathtaking, if you looked up you would see a magnificent sight. The rotunda has ceiling to floor windows all around and you can sit and drink a cup of Joe. There is also Surf’s if you wanted a cocktail! This sitting area has access to the beach and outdoor areas.

We also had a great experience at TOMO Hibachi and the girls had a brand new experience of fresh, at-the-table cooking and delicious and flavorful food.

Plenty to Do!

The outdoor area is one of the very reasons that my husband and I are already planning our next stay at Hotel Breakers. There is so much to do during downtimes from riding in the park. The one-mile beach has volleyball nets, chairs and I bet on a sunny day that it is glorious.

The outdoor pools and slides are something all kids would love and I personally loved the fire pits. I can see myself relaxing their after a long day at the park, reflecting and taking in all the fun we had!

Swim Like a Fish.

Since we had gloomy weather during our stay, we were able to enjoy the indoor pool. The girls had so much fun and we all enjoyed splashing around. The indoor pool features gorgeous skylights for plenty of natural light and has access to the outdoor facilities as well. The pool is 3-feet all around and it is perfect for kids of all ages, even us big kids too.

The hot tub was large and always at the perfect temperature. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub both before and after our day at Cedar Point and let me tell you, it felt great!

Time to Play!

What I love about Cedar Point is that they have something for everyone. Now that I am a parent, I get to see all aspects of the park. Gabby, our oldest, is tall enough to go on almost all of the rides while our youngest, Mimi, still isn’t.

We began our day by visiting Planet Snoopy and taking in all the fun and smaller rides with Mimi. The girls loved the bumper cars and Mimi loved the space ships at Planet Snoopy. The benefit of a gloomy day was that there was almost no wait times and we loved that part!

Bring the Rush!

Growing up, I was an adrenaline junkie. I remember arriving at Cedar Point early and running to the Millennium Force to be first in line. If I was lucky, I’d get to go on twice depending on the amount of people waiting. Nowadays, I am a little more fearful but, I still can’t help myself when it comes to feeling that adrenaline rush.

We alternated from smaller rides to bigger thrills with Gabby. She went on the Power Tower with Dara, maXair, Windseeker, Gatekeeper (twice), Iron Dragon and Wicked Twister. I had to get on Millennium Force again for old time’s sake and one of my all-time favorites, the Corkscrew. Three. Times.

Of course, if you make your way to Cedar Point, you have to ride their newest attraction. The Rougarou. It is Cedar Point’s first floorless coaster and definitely one to make you scream!

We Will Be Back.

After staying one day at Hotel Breakers, we are already planning our next trip back. The hotel is gorgeous, modern and luxurious but, still has that traditional feel. It is no wonder that US Presidents and even Helen Keller have been guests. Now it is re-imagined, renovated and ready for thrill-seekers of today.

Have you ever been to Cedar Point?

Let me know, til then—cheers m’deres!
