5 Fast Food Meals that Fit into Your Weight Watchers Plan

People say New Years is the time many want to lose weight. I think the summer months are as we are out and about more and looking to wear swimsuits, slinky dresses and other summer outfits. But having the kids home for the summer makes watching what we eat a challenge. I know myself that fast food is consumed way more it eh summer months because we are in the city more, at the mall or just looking for a quick bite.
Weight Watchers has become a very popular diet that has been endorsed by many celebrities, such as Jennifer Hudson and Jessica Simpson. They’re infamous for being the diet that you can eat anything you want as long as you account for the points plus that you will be using! Sometimes when you’re out and about and you get hungry, you’re forced to pick something up at a fast food restaurant and it may not be ideal for weight loss. It is possible to make better choices when you’re eating out but it takes some will power to resist from those delicious french fries! lol Here’s a few meal ideas I’ve compiled that are 10 points plus or less! Let’s get into them!
Fast food
1. Wendys: 4 piece Chicken Nugget and Small Chili = 9 Points Plus A big part of weight watchers is switching portion sizes, so if you’re used to getting a 10 piece chicken nugget and fries, this will probably be a bit of an adjustment for you! It’s all about getting your body to fit the correct meal plan and getting it used to eating less and getting full faster. Try drinking a lot of water before you eat to help make you feel fuller.
2. McDonald’s: Regular Hamburger and Side Salad w/ Low Fat Italian Dressing = 9 Points Plus If you’re a cheese type of person, you’ll have to be willing to splurge on a couple more points for that piece of cheese! I find this meal very satifying, it’s a good balance of bread and veggies to fill me up. I think that the low fat italian dressing is absolutely delicious as well! It has a very peppery seasoned flavor and it really compliments the salad well.
3. Chipotle: Kids Meal 2 Chicken Soft Tacos w/ Cheese and Lettuce = 9 Points Plus The kids meal soft taco portion is perfectly portioned if you’re on weight watchers! You get two tacos and you could also add fajita veggies and salsa if you’d like for just one additional point, putting you at that 10 point mark! I personally love chipotle and I love the fact that I can still get it while trying to lose weight! It is also served with your choice mandarin oranges, valencia oranges, or grapes which are 0 additional points! Refrain from eating those chips everyone!
4. Pizza Hut: 1 Piece of Cheese Thin n Crispy Pizza w/ a homemade Salad OR 6 traditional boneless wings = 9 Points Plus each meal I absolutely LOVE pizza! It is probably one of my favorite meals and I could honestly probably eat it every single day! If you cut down to just one slice paired with a big salad on the side it’s a great meal to satisfy the craving you may have for pizza without ruining your diet! Pizza Hut (and most other pizza places) also have wings these days as well! You can get away with eating about 6 traditional buffalo wings, but make sure to skip the ranch or bleu cheese dressings!
5. Taco Bell: 1 Bean Burrito OR 2 Soft Tacos = 10 Points Taco Bell is one of my weaknesses when it comes to fast food, it’s a great meal for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even their famous tag line…Fourthmeal. SometimesTaco Bell is a big craving of mine and I’m so glad that there a couple different varieties I can get and still stay within my points range and on my diet! Try to refrain from adding any sour cream or anything additional to these meals and you will be just fine!
If you find yourself wanting to pick up a fast food meal and you are on weight watchers, or any other diet for that matter, remember it is is possible…just don’t go too crazy! Everyone deserves a bit of a little cheat meal every once in a while!
