Perfecting the Grill Indoors with T-Fal OptiGrill #GrillingMastered #GrillerCommeUnPro

I am all for year long grilling! I love the taste of my food after it has been grilled and it is always so much healthier than other options. I have been known for grilling in the middle of winter out on the deck as well.

Is it practical? Is it warm? Do your guests bundle up and join you?

Nope!

It is lonely and cold out there when the weather is not perfect and warm. So what do you do when you want that great off the grill taste but wanting to stay inside? There are options Canada

Having a counter top appliance that allows you to conveniently grill indoors whenever you want to is a dream!  I could not wait to try it out. Set up was quick and everything was ready to go. The instructions were clear and had bright images to follow. Never having luck grilling chicken I knew what I wanted to try.

The recipe I used in the video was inspired by the following recipe you can find in the T-Fal OptiGrill recipe book

Honey Hoisin Chicken Breasts

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup (125 ml) hoisin sauce

• 1/4 cup (50 ml) honey

• 2 tbsp (30 ml) lime juice

• 2 tbsp (30 ml) soy sauce

• 1 tbsp (15 ml) sesame oil

• 4 cloves garlic, minced

• 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

• Sliced green onion

Serve with stir-fried vegetables over cooked rice.

Whisk the hoisin with the honey, lime juice, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger and garlic until well combined; transfer one half of the mixture to a microwave-safe bowl. Cook in the microwave, on high, for 60 to 90 seconds or until steaming; set aside. Place the chicken in a zip-top bag and pour in the remaining hoisin mixture. Marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes or in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Select the program and press . Lightly grease the cooking plates with cooking spray. Once the purple indicator light has stopped flashing, place the chicken on the grill and close the lid. Cook until the indicator light has changed to the colour yellow. Transfer the chicken to a cutting board. Slice the chicken and drizzle with the remaining warm hoisin mixture.

The grill was really easy to use! I was surprised as I always burn chicken when cooking it on the outdoor grill. The controls are easy to read and I love how it beeps and flashes lights at different stages. I was able to place the chicken on and carry on with other duties in the kitchen. I did not have to watch over it and check on it every few minutes like when I cook it outdoors. The chicken breasts were cooked evenly and were so juicy! I love how the grill marks were on the outside as well. My family was totally impressed with my grill abilities 🙂

After grilling the chicken I decided the next day to grill up tuna melts and they too were a hit! Cleaning it was very simple as well. All I ha to do was wait until it cooled and pop off the plates. Washed in the dishwasher on normal cycle.
