Mixing things up with Hidden Valley Greek dressing

When you have a picky family like mine you learn to change things up slowly when it comes to food. I can never totally change a recipe but I can make small changes and my family seems to welcome it for the most part. So when Hidden Valley sent me a yummy Greek package I could not wait to see what they thought.

Hidden Valley Ranch Greek Tzatziki mix

This salad dressing mix is great to pair perfectly with nonfat Greek yogurt , sour cream, cream cheese or what have you. Now you can have all of the Original Ranch flavor you crave, with less fat, more protein and fewer calories.

I mixed my package with 1/2 cup yogurt 1/2 cup cream cheese and 1/2 cup sour cream to dip yummy freshly cut veggies in.

Hidden Valley Ranch Greek Tzatziki dressing

I added the Hidden Valley Ranch Greek Tzatziki to a salad and served with grilled chicken. We eat a lot of chicken in our home. The salad was a big hit

Greek Tzatziki salad

    • 1 cucumber, unpeeled, sliced into quarters
    • 8 leaves of romaine lettuce cut into pieces
    • 1 red bell pepper, large-diced
    • 1 yellow bell pepper, large-diced
    • 10  grape tomatoes, cut
    • 1/2 red onion, diced
    • 1/2 pound feta cheese, diced
    • 1/2 cup black olives, sliced

Once everything is washed and cut add to a large bowl. Drizzle on 1/4 cup of Hidden Valley Ranch Greek Tzatziki dressing and chill.

I kept things pretty basic because my kids are so picky! But you can really change things up with this Mediterranean twist.  A few ideas are

Add to mashed potatoes

Brush on fish or chicken while grilling

Use as a dip for fruit or cheese

Greek cuisine is a Mediterranean cuisine. Contemporary Greek cookery makes wide use of olive oil, lemon juice, vegetables, and herbs, grains and bread, wine, fish, and various meats, including lamb, poultry, rabbit and pork. The most commonly seen grain is wheat, however barley is also used.

As my family adjusts to our menu changing I plan on getting more creative and changing things up a bit more drastically. I will be sure to keep you posted.

These tasty Greek flavours can be found in grocery stores across Canada. Be sure to check out Hidden Valley on Twitter and Facebook for more inspiration today. Your taste buds will be glad you added this zesty dressing to your diet.
