  • 1/2 Cup of Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Cream of Tartar

  • Food Coloring (Optional)play-dough
  • Directions:
  • 1. We are going to start by mixing our dry ingredients, so go ahead and pour 2 cups of flour into a medium sized bowl
  • 2. Next, add in 1/2 cup of salt.
  • 3. And finally mix in your 2 tbsp Cream of Tartar
  • 4. Add in your 2 Tbsp of Vegetable Oil and mix it in well.
  • 5. Finally, pour in the boiling water, be sure to be very careful as it is very hot!
  • 6. Mix all the ingredients together until they form the dough and allow your dough to cool.
  • 7. After it has completely cooled down, go ahead and separate your dough into as many colors as you may want.
  • 8. Drip your food coloring into each form of dough and simply knead in that color until your play-dough is completely colored. I would highly recommend using gloves because if not your coloring will stain your hand!

My grandchildren love playing with play dough. It’s a great idea to make your own too. I find that the kids mix up the colours into some disgusting shade of brown, so making new colours is a good idea. 🙂
