Family Fun In Las Vegas

When you are planning your next family vacation, you might not think about adding Las Vegas to the list of possible destinations.  However, Las Vegas is a great area for adults and kids alike!  There is so much more to do besides gambling and drinking and quite a bit of the activities available for children, are actually fun for the adults as well.

There are many hotels to stay at right on the main strip, however Circus Circus is a popular one for families.  It is located on the older end of the strip, so it is quieter and not as crowded as the newer end.  While there is a casino, there is also a circus midway for family entertainment.  The entire family will enjoy playing circus games and taking time out to watch all of the different circus acts that are shown on stage for free every day starting at 11 a.m.

Another part of Circus Circus is the Adventuredome.  The Adventuredome offers 5 acres of indoor amusement park fun.  They are open 7 days a week and offer an all day ride pass, so the family will be able to spend the entire day riding their favorite rides again and again.

When you decide that you want to venture down to the busier end of the strip, you will want to make a few stops along the way.  Inside Caesar’s Palace, you can watch the Fall of Atlantis.  The show is 7 minutes long and has colorful lights and amazing special effects.  The shows start every hour on the hour and make sure you arrive early, so you can get the best view.  Another place everyone will enjoy visiting is the M&M’s World store.  The store has four floors, so make sure that you have time to enjoy them all.  There is even a free 3-D movie that everyone in your family will enjoy.

Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat is any animal lover’s dream attraction.  The entire family will enjoy watching the white lions and numerous tigers in the secret garden, before heading back to watch the dolphins swim and play in the dolphin habitat.  They even offer special programs like painting with the dolphins and yoga with the dolphins.  These are opportunities that you won’t be able to find anywhere else!

Nighttime is when you will want to head down to Fremont Street.  This area is best enjoyed at night with all of the music and lights.  It isn’t that far from the strip and is easy to get to by bus.

There are many restaurants to choose from while you are in Las Vegas, but some of them are more family friendly than others.  Many families will choose from the large number of buffets that many of the hotels and casinos have.  It is an easy way to make sure everyone can choose something that they like to eat.  Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville is another place that is family friendly.  They offer burgers and an atmosphere that can be enjoyed by everyone in your group.

While walking may be the easiest way to get up and down the strip, the bus is an easy way to get to where you want to go quickly.  The bus offers day passes or multiple day passes, so you won’t have to find the exact change every time you get on.  It’s one of the cheapest ways to get around, especially if the kids are getting tired of walking.

These are only some of your options when visiting Las Vegas.  There is so much to do and you may find that you don’t have time to do everything that you want.  That’s okay, because you can always plan a return trip in a few years!

We went to Las Vegas years and years ago and I enjoyed every minute, there was so much to see and do in the surrounding area, it was marvellous. Food prices were cheap for adults, we enjoyed lobster whilst the kids spaghetti cost more than our lobsters! I believe that’s altered now unfortunately.
