Easy to Make Camping Recipes

Camping is easily the best part of summer, getting to be in the great outdoors with family and friends. There is just one little problem, most of the time camping food consists of hot dogs, burgers, and s’mores, which are good but can get old and it can be hard to cook actual meals with different variety without over packing. No worries, though, because these 5 easy to make camping recipes will change things up and take no time at all to prepare, pack, and cook. Plus they will taste delicious.

Easy to Make Camping Recipes

Pancakes

This is one of the easiest recipes, all you need to do is pre-make the pancake batter and put inside a large ziplock bag (you can make as many as you want, depending on how long you’re camping/how many people are going). Put the ziplock full of batter into the cooler, it won’t take up much space. In the morning heat up a pan over the fire or on a camping stove, cut the corner of the ziplock for easy batter pouring. Viola! No hot dogs for breakfast this time!

Roasted Apples

These make for a great dessert or breakfast. Cut and core some apples, transfer the apples to tin foil. Then you are going to sprinkle some brown sugar and cinnamon onto the apples, add a few thin slices of butter. Fold the apples up in the foil (make sure the apples are fully covered) place the apples in the coals of the fire and turn them every 5 minutes after about 15 minutes roll them out and let them cool for a few minutes, then enjoy!

Walking Taco

These things make for a great lunch or dinner. Pack a few small bags of Fritos chips or Doritos, canned refried beans, shredded cheese, sour cream and salsa if you’d like. When it is time to cook, heat up the refried beans, slice the bags of chips open on their side and add the rest of the toppings. You’ve now got yourself a walking taco, it is recommended to use a fork but if you aren’t afraid of being messy you can use your hands.

Bag Omelets

Prepare at home, take a gallon sized ziplock, crack 2 eggs inside the bag. Add the toppings, things like sliced green bell peppers, ham, etc. whatever you like in your omelet. Put them in the cooler, when you are ready to eat, take and boil a large pot of water. Put the bag inside the boiling water and cook for 12-14 minutes. After the time is up carefully pull the bag out, open and slide the omelet onto your plate. You can make as many as you need to.

Baked Potatoes

Pre-wrap as many as potatoes as you will need or want with tin foil. When it comes time to cook, poke the potato with a fork all around a couple of times. Place the potatoes in the hot coals of your campfire for about 10 minutes carefully pull out, let cool. Then add your desired toppings and enjoy!

Cooking, while you’re camping, doesn’t have to be stressful or take up much time and it can be more than just hamburgers, hotdogs, and sandwiches. All it takes is a few extra steps to prepare some of the foods before you go out and you can enjoy your time and your food! Hopefully, these 5 easy camping recipes will be useful for you on your next camping trip.

One of our best camping meals is A one pan meal with rice, canned tomatoes, celery, onion and cut up hotdogs or sausage. The canned tomatoes simmer down while cooking the rice and hotdogs, add the fried celery and onions, salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer until the rice is cooked and there is no tomato juice left. Euvich is a closet the name for it.
